Climate Challenge Fund - Development Grants

Development Grants are available in 2019/20 to help Scottish community-led organisations to scope out a potential climate action project. Projects can: enable community-led organisations to develop ideas for a climate change action project which would support low-carbon behaviour changes, increase climate literacy and reduce carbon emissions; assist in progressing to a full CCF Grant application or similar activities for another funder; organise a community consultation event and survey work; engage a consultant or advisor to support project development; cover expenses associated with visit(s) to other projects/organisations; develop a low-carbon project idea; host an event using the Scottish Government's Climate Conversation toolkit.

Novum Trust

The Trust supports new work with the provision of small short-term grants to initiate projects in Christian action and research. It provides funding for projects that are: essentially Scottish; distinctively new ('Novum'); not readily able to be financed from other sources and short term - normally one year. British Science Association - CREST Awards

CREST offers educators an easy-to-run framework for curriculum enhancement and is student-led, encouraging young people to take ownership of their own projects. CREST can be run in schools, clubs, youth groups, other organisations or at home. CREST Awards for underrepresented audiences funding is available to support and enable schools and organisations to run CREST Awards with young people underrepresented in STEM. Funding can cover registration fees and support costs for running the Awards, such as CPD for school staff, supply teacher cover, CREST link schemes or a delivery partner, consumables or equipment.

The Trust provides funding to charities to deliver positive outcomes for the individuals and communities that they work with through three funding strands. Care and Wellbeing seeks to improve people's physical and mental health including: ensuring the best quality of life for Scotland’s vulnerable adults, including those directly or indirectly affected by dementia; improving the health and wellbeing of children & young people affected by mental and/or physical ill health; supporting adults with life limiting, long term health conditions or disability to overcome barriers and remain involved with their communities. Realising Potential addresses social and educational inequalities in children and young people including: enabling young people to realise their potential; supporting “at risk” young people to make positive choices; broadening horizons and nurturing talents among Scotland’s young people. Strengthening Communities looks for solutions which address local need including: reducing health and social inequalities in Scotland’s communities; supporting people and communities to find routes out of poverty; empowering communities.
